A camera is a device used to capture photographs or record videos. It works by focusing light onto a sensor or film to create an image. Cameras come in many types, including digital, film, and smartphone cameras.

History

↓↓
The basic principle of the camera dates back to ancient times with the camera obscura. This was a darkened room or box with a small hole (aperture) that allowed light to project an image of the outside world onto a surface inside. Alhazen, an Arab scholar in the 10th century, wrote about the camera obscura and its use in understanding the physics of vision. The 16th century saw the development of portable versions of the camera obscura, which artists used to help with drawing. 1975: Steven Sasson, an engineer at Eastman Kodak, developed the first digital camera. It was a bulky prototype that captured black-and-white images at a resolution of 0.01 megapixels. 1990s: Digital cameras began to be introduced to the mass market. Companies like Sony, Canon, and Nikon released the first consumer digital cameras, which used electronic sensors to capture images instead of film.
