Clouds are visible masses of tiny water droplets or ice crystals floating in the sky. They form when moist air rises and cools, and they play an important role in weather and the water cycle.

History

↓↓
In ancient times, clouds were often seen as mystical or divine phenomena. Many cultures associated clouds with gods, omens, or messages from the heavens. In Greek mythology, clouds were linked to the gods of Mount Olympus, and in Japanese Shinto, clouds often appear in myths involving gods descending from the sky. The scientific understanding of clouds began to develop during the Renaissance. In 1802, English meteorologist Luke Howard introduced the first systematic cloud classification, which is still used today: Cumulus (fluffy, heaped) Stratus (layered) Cirrus (wispy, high) Nimbus (rain-bearing) These terms are based on Latin and form the foundation of modern meteorology.
