Best Regards / Please treat me well
Japanese
よろしくおねがいします
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu

Lesson & Usage

  • [English equivalent: "Nice to meet you," "Best regards," or "I'm looking forward to working with you."] Often called the "Magic Phrase." It is used at the end of every self-introduction, when asking someone for a favor, or as a closing in business emails. It acts as the verbal glue that binds two people in a new contract of trust and cooperation.

Culture & Etiquette

  • "Yoroshiku" comes from the word "Yoroshii" (Good/Suitable). By adding "Onegaishimasu" (I beg of you), you are saying: "I put my future in your hands, please handle it well." It reflects the Japanese mindset that no one can succeed alone—we all need to rely on the goodwill of others.
