JLPT N5
Asking for Help (Emergency)
Japanese
たすけてください
Tasukete kudasai
Lesson & Usage
- [English equivalent: "Please help me!" or "I need help!"] This is a direct and urgent cry for help. Use it only in real emergencies, such as being injured, feeling unsafe, or witnessing an accident.
Culture & Etiquette
- While Japan is generally safe, people may sometimes be shy to intervene unless directly asked. Saying "Tasukete kudasai" is a clear signal that breaks the social barrier and asks for immediate assistance.
